Awasi Santa Catarina in Brazil and Awasi Mendoza in Argentina

As South America cements its place at the forefront of experiential travel, Awasi – renowned for its understated yet trailblazing brand of remote luxury – is entering a new and ambitious phase. Building on the success of its award-winning lodges in Patagonia, Atacama, and Iguazú, the brand is now expanding into a cohesive network of outdoor journeys, each deeply rooted in the landscape, culture, and natural rhythms of its setting.

This next chapter introduces two exceptional properties: Awasi Santa Catarina in Brazil and Awasi Mendoza in Argentina. Together, they represent both a broadening of scale and a refinement of vision, connecting travellers to some of the continent’s most captivating environments. The expansion embodies Awasi’s commitment to balancing adventure with restoration, offering experiences shaped entirely around each guest. As with all Awasi properties, visitors will enjoy private villas, dedicated guides, personal 4WD vehicles, and fully tailored itineraries—no group tours, no fixed timetables, just privacy, place, and pace. With these additions, Awasi now counts five private lodges in its portfolio, furthering its mission to deliver meaningful, low-impact journeys that immerse guests in the wild soul of South America.

“With the addition of Awasi Santa Catarina and Awasi Mendoza to our portfolio, we’re weaving together South America’s most extraordinary landscapes into a connected constellation of intimate sanctuaries,” said Nicolás Peluffo, CEO of Awasi. “Each property we choose already pulses with its own spirit. Our role is to amplify that essence, creating spaces that foster meaningful engagement between guests, land and culture.”

AWASI SANTA CATARINA | COASTAL STILLNESS

Overlooking Brazil’s protected Emerald Coast and encircled by lush Atlantic Forest, Awasi Santa Catarina occupies a striking peninsula an hour from Florianópolis. Here, fishing traditions still shape daily life, and coastal culture meets pristine nature. Formerly Ponta dos Ganchos, the reimagined property offers 25 stand-alone villas, all with sweeping sea views and elegantly refined interiors. Guests can indulge in oceanfront treatments at the Sisley Paris spa, enjoy island dinners and beach picnics, or explore by speedboat, all at an unhurried pace.

On 1 November, the lodge will unveil a new wellness pavilion and breakfast lounge above Fisherman’s Cove, complete with an outdoor lap pool, sun-filled dining space, three thermal plunge pools (hot, tepid, and cold), a sound healing room, and a modern fitness centre—all framed by panoramic ocean views. This milestone coincides with the arrival of head guide Andrea Moschetti, who will lead a team of ten in curating immersive itineraries focused on storytelling, local encounters, and quiet exploration. It’s a continuation of Awasi’s dedication to place-based travel where every experience flows from the land and culture around it.

AWASI MENDOZA | VINEYARD HORIZONS

Set among 35 acres of private vineyards in the Agrelo district of Luján de Cuyo—widely regarded as the heart of Argentine wine country—Awasi Mendoza, formerly Cavas Wine Lodge, was the first luxury lodge to open in the foothills of the Andes. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, this fertile region owes its winemaking heritage to Italian and Spanish immigrants who brought centuries-old traditions to the Andean slopes.

By 1 November, Awasi Mendoza will fully adopt the brand’s hallmark approach, assigning each villa its own private guide and crafting entirely bespoke itineraries. Guests might ride through vineyards and olive groves with local gauchos, join grape harvest rituals, master Argentine recipes in open-air cooking classes, or taste vintages from both the lodge’s vines and other notable South American labels in its wine cellar.

The 17 villas are designed for slow, luxurious living, with plunge pools, rooftop terraces, and fireplaces ideal for sunset drinks or stargazing. New developments include an open-fire cooking space for atmospheric alfresco dining, plus plans for an expanded spa and refreshed restaurant interiors—evidence of Awasi’s commitment to evolving with authenticity and purpose.
