BALL Watch brand takes special care to make the models of its Hydrocarbon collection as resistant as possible. Wearing its grandiose appearance well, the Engineer Hydrocarbon Racer Chronograph has what to takes to go head-to-head with the competition.

Boasting a rich past linked to the American railways, BALL Watch Co has maintained its lines while constantly evolving, offering various, ultra-functional models that all meet high standards of precision. Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology developed by BALL Watch’s research and development office, Patrick’s Labs, as well as a sophisticated, redefined design, this new Racer Chronograph model holds all the keys to success.

The Engineer Hydrocarbon Racer Chronograph is a complex model combining hours, minutes, seconds and date functions. For the true race car enthusiast, it is also equipped with a chronograph that makes sporty automotive gauges pale in comparison. Its brushed steel (or ceramic) bezel is marked by a tachymetric scale allowing it to monitor speed at any time.

Its BALL RR1401-C movement, a genuine mechanical motor, is COSC-certified (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing), thus ensuring maximum precision. For both day and nighttime reading, tubes of green H3 gas have been affixed to the dial and hands with a color distinction at 12 o’clock where the tubes are yellow. These iconic, state-of-the-art tubes allow for unparalleled brightness in the dark, illuminating up to 100 times brighter than the Super LumiNova paint typically used in the watch industry. Impressively, the Swiss technology glass-filled microcapsules require no external charge source.

The Racer Chronograph model features a 42 mm diameter stainless steel case while the bezel comes in either stainless steel or black ceramic. Three dial colors of dials are also available: black, blue or white. Water-resistant up to 100 m, and resistant to shocks of up to 7,500 g and magnetic fields of up to 4,800 A/m, the Racer Chronograph is the ideal tool to take on extreme terrain.

As a regulating organ of movement, the crown is directly connected to the watch’s movement. It is therefore one of the riskiest components of a watch, as external shocks can reverberate through to the heart of the caliber. In order to limit such risks, the Engineer Hydrocarbon Racer Chronograph crown screws into the case once the watch has been set, and a patented protection closes over it like a clasp, securing access to the crown.

The Racer Chronograph is finished with a stainless-steel bracelet that boasts a folding clasp. The contrast of the exterior links’ brushed finish with the interior links’ polished appearance adds a chic touch to the bracelet’s sporty look.
