In the wake of the viral story from one TikTok user and his wife who documented their experience as the first and only guests at the newly opened 79-suite Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, the adults-only hotel is now offering a Billionaire Buyout, the ultimate in one-upmanship. Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos is the sister hotel of Grand Velas Los Cabos that is home to the world’s most expensive taco priced at $25K. For those who want to live out @freedom_hustler’s unique experience as the only guest, attended to by all 180 staff for any needs, multiple top chefs, a spa and eye-popping swimming pool, and tequila tasting room all to themselves. With privacy at the forefront, the USD 600,000 ultra-exclusive getaway includes a three-night stay with the option to select a different luxury suite each night, private dining at Michelin two-star chef Sidney Schutte’s Cocina de Autor restaurant, airport transfer via helicopter, sunset tour on the resort’s private Bella yacht, Dom Pérignon on arrival, personal training sessions, regional wine, cheese, ancestral spirits, and tequila tastings, and more.
Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos opened on January 8th. “During the soft opening phase of the resort, we chose to limit the number of suites available for booking for an intentionally exclusive experience. Velas Resorts prides itself on offering the very best, not just in service, but also in food, accommodations, design, and experiences, so we opted for a gradual ramp-up of the number of guests to ensure a vacation that surpasses expectations for any travelers who choose Velas Resorts whether they are our first guest or a repeat visitors years after opening,” said Andreas Schmidt, Managing Director of Grand Velas Boutique and sister property Forbes Five Star Grand Velas Los Cabos next door.
While the couple’s TikTok videos initially showed some shock at the lack of other guests, they eventually felt “so lucky.”
The Billionaire Buyout is designed for those seeking the pinnacle of luxury travel. After arrival to Los Cabos, guests will head straight to the boutique hotel via private helicopter where they can opt to check in to any one of the hotel’s 79 suites. With garden or ocean views, each suite is over 900 sq. ft. complete with a large private terrace with outdoor seating, a Jacuzzi or plunge pool, and select suites with a comforting fire pit. Upgrades are accepted here. One can choose to stay in a different room category every night with hotel staff on hand to unpack and pack their items each day as required. A bottle of vintage Dom Pérignon awaits in the suite on arrival and one morning guests can opt for breakfast on their suite terrace on a floating tray in their plunge pool. The amenity features an assortment of items including Belgian-style waffles with red fruit compote and caramelized seeds, house-made granola, lobster benedict, a souffle with sauteed spinach and mushrooms, pancakes, hash browns, avocado toast, Osetra Caviar, truffle, and more.
At Velas Resorts, the culinary experience is paramount with food, creativity and presentation comparable to that of top restaurants in world capitals. At Loto at Grand Velas Boutique, the essence of Japanese cuisine is harmoniously blended with the traditional technique of the robata grill, a slow-cooking method over an open fire. Guests at Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos also have access to the five fine dining restaurants at neighboring Grand Velas Los Cabos. At the acclaimed Cocina de Autor restaurant that is headed by two Michelin star Chef Sidney Schutte one gets exclusive access to the 10-course tasting menu with wine pairing. Back at Grand Velas Boutique, the Billionaire Buyout also includes a private beach dinner with views of the fuschia sunset views of Sea of Cortez. Lunch options vary from poolside to the oceanfront Roca Bar which pays homage to the distinctive rock formations that define the destination and beckons those searching for a refreshing beverage, freshly prepared ceviche, and other unique dishes such as local octopus with bone marrow. A decadent 20-foot breakfast buffet at Del Mar complements handmade tortillas for some of @freedom_hustler’s favorite breakfast quesadillas.
Prime whale-watching in Cabo is best experienced from the comforts of the hotel’s botanical-designed beachfront infinity pool, where guests will have a private viewing of these majestic creatures breaching in their natural habitat. A staff-to-guest ratio of three to one also makes it easy to field a team of beach soccer, pool volleyball, or ping pong should the guest want some friendly competition. Or, a skilled trainer is available for some personal training sessions at the hotel’s Technogym fitness center with views of the onsite cactus garden. Multiple concierges are on hand round-the-clock to handle any requests, including the scheduling of one’s nightly activity. One won’t be bored with a signature tequila tasting in the hotel’s dedicated Agave Room, a wine and cheese pairing with regional selections from throughout Mexico, and a Mexican chocolate and ancestral spirits dessert experience. Guests will also spend one night on an exclusive sunset cruise aboard the hotel’s 55-foot “Bella” Azimut Yacht for views of the famous Cabo arch. As the day winds down, guests can gather around the fire pit for s’mores.
But a billionaire’s vacation wouldn’t be complete without a proper sendoff, @freedom_hustler’s memorable departure is also included, complete with waves from the entire hotel team and a complete Mariachi band.
