A boutique cruise through northern Vietnam has joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH). Bhaya Soul, a 20-suite vessel from Bhaya Cruises, now appears in the hotel collection as a luxury boat stay, bringing its wellness-focused voyages through Ha Long and Lan Ha bays to a wider audience.
The addition is an unusual one for a collection better known for independent hotels on land. For travelers, it offers a way to pair the small scale and personal service of a boutique stay with time on the water among the region’s limestone islands.
A small ship with room to slow down
Bhaya Soul has 20 suites across four categories, each with a private balcony. The ship also has a restaurant, pool and sundeck, giving guests places to take in the bay between excursions. Its routes link Ha Long Bay and neighboring Lan Ha Bay, with itineraries ranging from one to several nights.
Wellness is part of the sailing schedule rather than a single appointment. Depending on the voyage, guests can take part in guided meditation and gentle movement, spend time in the onboard wellness area, or join a mindful walk. Excursions may include kayaking, cave visits and a stop at Cua Van Floating Village. Travelers should check the chosen itinerary for the specific activities and treatments included.
The slower pace is central to Bhaya Soul’s appeal. A longer sailing gives guests time to experience the scenery from their balcony or the deck as well as explore beyond the ship. Extending the journey through Vietnam
Bhaya Cruises is also connecting the bay experience with a stay at Namia River Retreat in Hoi An, another SLH member. One of its multi-destination itineraries combines time in Hanoi, a night aboard Bhaya Soul and a riverside stay in Hoi An. It gives travelers a way to carry the wellness theme beyond the cruise while seeing three different parts of Vietnam.
The new SLH affiliation does not change what makes the voyage distinctive: a small guest list, views of Ha Long’s karst formations and an itinerary designed to leave space for both exploration and rest.
