Singer and songwriter Chlöe Bailey has chosen the Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia to record her highly anticipated sophomore album, Trouble in Paradise. The 16-track visual album, filmed entirely in Saint Lucia, offers listeners a multi-sensory experience that combines stunning visuals of the island with her new captivating music.
Rising to fame under the mentorship of Beyoncé and signed to her label, Parkwood Entertainment, Chlöe has entranced audiences with her powerful vocals. She is known for hits such as “Treat Me” and “Have Mercy,” solidifying her place as a trailblazer in the music industry.
Chlöe spent an extended period in Saint Lucia, immersing herself in the island’s beauty and culture to draw inspiration for her new album. Parts of Trouble in Paradise were recorded and filmed at Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences in the newly renovated Ocean Point Residences. This luxurious five-star resort is nestled in the hillside overlooking the Caribbean Sea and is featured in visuals throughout the album, including the backdrop of the album cover.
As the only sovereign nation named after a woman, Saint Lucia was her creative muse, vividly reflected in the album’s storytelling. The album’s artwork features various snapshots of Chlöe’s experience and journey in the shape of the island.
“Saint Lucia has completely fueled my mind, body, soul, spirit, and heart with inspiration and love. I have never felt this liberated before in my life,” said Chlöe Bailey.” I was able to create this body of work in a space where I feel the most free and happy, literally writing away my troubles in paradise. “
Recording the album and videos on the island empowered Chlöe’s creative process to flourish in a tropical environment. This project is designed to be experienced as an immersive audio-visual journey, capturing the spirit of Saint Lucia through her unique perspective.
“We are honored that Chlöe Bailey selected Saint Lucia as the inspiration for her new album,” remarked Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information. This year, Chlöe headlined the 2024 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival. Her powerful vocals, captivating stage presence, and stunning choreography mesmerized the crowd. Her work highlights our island’s unique charm and beauty. We welcome all her fans and travellers to Saint Lucia, where they can discover their own adventures.”
