Darwin Stars as Hot New Road Trip Destination

Look what has popped up in Darwin, a Star RV & JUCY branch for campervan and motorhome hire. The only operator in the NT with a fully self-contained fleet that includes brand new JUCY Cruisers and Star RV Polaris 2 and Polaris 6, guests are ensured the most comfortable Northern Territory experience.

The Darwin pop-up branch will be open from April until October 2024. There are complimentary airport transfers to and from the depot.

Affording myriad opportunities to fly both ways, drive both ways, train and drive, or fly-drive, particularly with the new Bonza direct flights from Gold Coast, or the Sunshine Coast airports, the opportunities are endless. Team up with a ‘drive one way and train one way’ travel on The Ghan with Journey Beyond between Adelaide and Darwin, from April 15 2024.

The JUCY Group is relocating around 45 vehicles to Darwin, including the range of iconic green JUCY campervans and the deluxe Star RV self-contained motorhomes.

Also, in a timely move, they are removing base-to-base restrictions on hires to and from Perth, now allowing one-way hires, offering seamless connectivity across WA, the Top End, and down to the east coast ports of Cairns, and further south to Sydney and Melbourne.

According to Adam Geneave, JUCY Group’s Chief Customer and Sales officer, “We’re already seeing some great new demand in WA, which of course has some of Australia’s best tourism drive experiences, and adding the Northern Territory will increase international tourism opportunities and present domestic travellers with greater route planning and travel.”

“As the only operator of self-contained RVs available for hire in the NT, customers can take freedom and exploration to a new level, with onboard freshwater and greywater tanks, separate toilet and shower, TV, all bedding linens and towels, and necessary kitchenware, along with a stove and sink,” he added.

New flights direct from Singapore to Darwin with Singapore Airlines commence in May 2024, and with Qantas operating too from Singapore in December 2024, this is sure to open up more international routes inbound to NT.

Kakadu Tourism welcomed the JUCY Group pop up branch, saying it will be brilliant for visitors wanting to explore Kakadu National Park.

“While we are just three-hour drive from Darwin, visitors to the Top End need plenty of time to explore Kakadu’s natural attractions, so bringing a motorhome to our Ngurrungurrudjba (Yellow Water) Campground is a perfect way of immersing yourself in the rich cultural landscape,” said Cooinda Lodge General Manager Jason Cleverley.

Also, as a corporate partner of the new Northern Territory Government’s initiative to lure visitors in 2024, known as the $1 million Territory Tourism Discount Scheme, customers can benefit from a 25% discount on all tourism experiences and products sold through NT Visitor Information Centres in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, and Yulara. All JUCY & Star RV vehicles sold through partner NT Visitor Information Centres will have the discount automatically applied at the time of sale.
