Slovenia is redefining the rapidly growing trend of glamorous camping or glamping. The popular trend of glamping combines the amenities of a hotel with the feeling of camping under the stars. Currently, Slovenia is one of the leading glamping destinations in Europe, featuring over 100 resorts across the country.
Slovenia’s widespread network of small and large glamping sites and other themed accommodations all incorporate aspects of the local culture and traditions into the design and experience of each resort. During the summer months, visitors can truly connect with nature and immerse themselves in the local culture while spending the night in a range of unique glamping resorts. Resorts such as Wine Village Glamping, offers travelers the chance to sleep in a genuine wooden wine barrel, while at Garden Village Bled, guests can spend the night high up in the treetops in a two-story tree house near the iconic Lake Bled.
With the rapid rise of glamping sites worldwide, Glamping experts and the Slovenian Tourist Board unveiled the ambitious World of Glamping project, a global quality certification program for glamping resorts. The new program introduces rules and criteria to rate properties and improve transparency around the world.
During their stay, guests can spend their days exploring Slovenia’s unspoiled landscape through a myriad of outdoor activities. The third most forested country in the European Union, Slovenia boasts over 6,000 miles of well-marked hiking trails and biking paths across alpine peaks, along lush riverbanks, and through picturesque town centers. Slovenia also offers a plethora of water-based activities, with thousands of miles of rivers, streams, lakes, waterfalls, and no fewer than 87 thermal and mineral water springs.
