JW Marriott Nashville Unveils Major Pool Renovation

Nashville’s First True Luxury Hotel Brand Reopens Pool Deck Just In-Time for Spring After $3 Million Upgrade

JW Marriott Nashville, which opened in 2018, has announced the completion of a major renovation to the property’s rooftop pool deck. Facing southwest for optimal sun exposure, the 12,000 square foot pool deck is one the largest hotel pool areas in the city featuring a freshwater swimming pool, private cabanas and daybeds, and Mediterranean-inspired food and cold, refreshing craft cocktails from the dedicated Cabana Club Bar and Grill.

“We are thrilled to reveal the outstanding upgrades to our pool deck and Cabana Club,” said Fabrizio Calvo, General Manager. “At JW Marriott Nashville, we take pride in continually providing our guests with access to unique and exclusive experiences. In partnership with the Stonehill Taylor design team, we are delighted to introduce this new level of sophistication to guests of the JW Marriott this spring.”

While the pool deck formerly tied to the clean, contemporary, and industrial look of the hotel, the new look pulls inspiration from global design. Enhanced elements seamlessly blend a tropical vibe with an elevated summer retreat anchored in a luxury resort-feel. Also featured are two custom murals by Nashville’s own Tarabella Aversa. Additional greenery walls and flowers around the deck help create a stylish and calming atmosphere.

The swimming pool is surrounded by eight full-scale private cabanas offering plush seating, personal storage, a mini-fridge and television. Base-level cabanas hold up to six guests and include a dedicated cabana server, water bottles, and a seasonal fruit plate. Canopy-covered two-seater daybeds are also available to reserve, while additional rocking chairs and chaise lounge chairs will be available to hotel guests on a first come, first served basis.

Continued Calvo, “Since we opened our property in summer 2018, we have seen the dramatic rise in pool culture among hotels in the years that followed. We’ve always been pleased with the pool experience we offered our guests at JW Marriott Nashville, but this renovation and refresh allows us to respond to the heightened interests of our guests and even better meet their needs for an exclusive yet approachable luxury pool experience. Our holistic methodology—encompassing premium amenities and accommodations, food and beverage, activities and events—will make it one of the hottest spots to cool off in Music City.”

“We wanted a timeless design with classic details to evoke a sophisticated island-inspired oasis,” said Wally Aubuchon from Stonehill Taylor, the leading architecture and interior design firm behind the renovation, as well as the hotel’s original design. “Navy blues in patterns like plaids and stripes and white linen draperies are used to stand out from the overall industrial design of the hotel. The lush landscaping around the pool gives guests the feeling of being on an island retreat.”

Cabana Club, the dedicated poolside bar, will serve Mediterranean-inspired food including honey-whipped ricotta, shrimp cocktail and kabob skewers. Wine, seltzers and domestic and craft beers will be available as well as tropical drinks like the Olive Oil Martini, Paloma and Spritz. Staff will circulate the pool deck with two Frosé carts to offer the popular frozen beverage chairside.

The pool deck also features a garden growing mint, basil and other herbs to provide fresh garnishes in the Cabana Club drinks.

The pool deck will be open daily for hotel guests from 6:00AM to 11:00PM, weather permitting. It will be available for private functions of up to 400 people upon reservation. To reserve a room or suite along with a cabana, please visit www.marriott.com/bnajw
