Las Cicadas, one of the most beautiful villa rentals in Ibiza, is now open again for bookings, post coronavirus. This super spacious rural finca that sleeps 12, will be available throughout the year for private stays (or as a wedding location), and is also available for longer term winter bookings.

Cleaning procedures have been updated and all surfaces will be thoroughly disinfected between guests. Disinfecting services will be supplied by a professional and qualified company. All staff will be wearing masks and gloves when at work and are being trained to follow the WHO guidelines for safety at work.

Situated close to the pretty town of Santa Gertrudis in rural Ibiza, Las Cicadas is one of Ibiza’s top villa stays.  A well-kept secret until now, this beautiful, serene ‘boutique villa’ attracts a host of high-profile names from the music and fashion world, including the globally acclaimed fashion designer Isabel Marant, Marcelo Burlon and DJ and producer Maceo Plex.

Spread over 10,000 square metres of land, with 6 spacious en-suite bedrooms, a beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi, two kitchens and a barn, the property was originally a 600-year-old farmhouse. Since then it has been sensitively renovated and now provides stunning villa accommodation for up to 12 people. Co-owner Tavis Buschman says ‘Staying at Las Cicadas is like having a boutique hotel all to yourself. We provide all of the services and quality of a luxury hotel.’

Las Cicadas is surrounded by mature lawned gardens which overlook the mountains. Shade is provided by ancient olive, fig and fruit trees – including apricots, oranges, lemons and avocados. Las Cicadas produce their own olive oil and they even have their own farm shop on the land where many of the local chefs pop in to purchase produce.

Inside the villa, warm terracotta Spanish floor tiles and whitewashed original stone walls frame light-filled interiors that lend themselves to a design aesthetic that embraces a super-relaxed pared back look. There are stylish mid-century modern furnishings, big squashy sofas and shelves full of books to help you feel at home.  The interior inspiration influences give a nod to traditional Ibicencan meets vibrant new Mexican, with a splash of contemporary style. Furnishings at Las Cicadas are vintage finds, with one-off pieces scouted from markets, auctions and artisans from all over the world.

Co-owner Nora Bullerjahn says ‘When we first saw the finca, we straight away fell in love with it because it was a rustic Casa Payesa (farmhouse) but it also reminded us of a Mexican hacienda somehow and we just loved that mix. It also feels like a little village with the courtyards, staircases and the layout.’

The jewel in Las Cicadas crown is a vast 70 square meter renovated barn which is used as an event space. You can definitely dance until dawn as there are no music restrictions (and it is situated well away from the neighbours!).  The ultimate Ibiza wedding or party destination Las Cicadas team will organize your event for you down to the last detail.  Las Cicadas host many events throughout the season from parties to art shows as well as delicious supper-clubs under the stars.
