Querencia – an unparalleled, private golf club and community in Los Cabos – is now owned by an entity controlled by Bonnie and Tom McCloskey of Aspen, Colorado, longtime Querencia CEO Jorge Carrera and Querencia resident Willy Jordan.
The new principals acquired the award-winning club and real estate assets from Charles Morgan, Rodger Kline and James Womble, and are already forging a bold vision and ambitious growth plans. The previous owners purchased Querencia in 2004 with the goal of creating “the private side of Los Cabos” exclusive to residents and members. Since then, Querencia solidified its standing as one of the most sought-after coastal communities for primary and vacation homeowners.
“Our vision is to evolve Querencia into an even more vibrant family-oriented private community while preserving its outstanding golf facility, as well as its exclusivity and attention to refinement,” said Tom McCloskey. “We thank Charles, Rodger and Jim for the opportunity to build on what they started.”
The McCloskey family has excelled in real estate development and community building, and have been members and property owners at Querencia since 2010. Jordan and his wife, Cherie, are also resident-members. Appointed Querencia CEO in 2004, Carrera and his team have significantly grown both real estate and membership sales, as well as amenity usage and financial strength.
The new ownership’s plans include substantial investments to enhance Querencia’s real estate offerings, the Q Ocean Club, the Tom Fazio-designed golf course and clubhouse (major renovation).
