Perú Mucho Gusto culinary festival returns this fall

The 25th edition of Perú Mucho Gusto is set to take place from October 31 to November 3 in the country’s culinary capital of Lima. Last year, Perú’s premiere gastronomic gathering brought together more than 40,000 participants to taste traditional regional dishes and innovative modern cuisine over three days. PROMPERÚ first launched Perú Mucho Gusto in 2008. Since then, 23 editions have been held across 11 regions of the country, featuring more than 1,500 culinary exhibitors. The concept is similar to the former Mistura food festival, with attendees sampling dishes from various Peruvian regions at one location – from Northern delicacies to traditional Andean fare to Amazonian cuisines. Visitors can also savor Perú’s famed culinary fusion dishes developed over a long process of cultural exchange between the Spanish, African, Chinese, Japanese, and Italian settlers, among others.

New luxury Amazon River cruise sets sail in Spring 2025

Luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has announced the launch of a new Peruvian riverboat set to make its maiden voyage in April 2025. Passengers will have an opportunity to explore the beautiful biodiversity of the Peruvian Amazon aboard the exclusive 22-passenger luxury vessel. Envisioned as a floating boutique hotel, the riverboat will offer 10 lavishly appointed double cabins and two single-occupancy cabins for solo travelers. Three-, four- and seven-night itineraries will combine a variety of river and land excursions, including Machu Picchu. The river cruise is a joint venture between A&K and expedition yacht company Ecoventura. Bookings for journeys aboard A&K’s new luxury ship in Perú will open in June 2024.
