Manhattan’s largest hotel pool located at the Dream Downtown Hotel in the Meatpacking District will be opening their indoor-outdoor eatery located poolside on Friday, May 24 for the Summer season. The Beach at Dream Downtown (available for reservations on OpenTable – purchase of the pool pass is not required for restaurant access) will offer re-imagined beach club fare with pacific island influences and large-format cocktails complimented by new décor elements such as a retractable weatherized pergola, swings, lush greenery and florals. The Beach’s culinary menu will be geared towards group sharing and will feature items such as: BBQ Chicken Satay with papaya slaw and chili sauce, Grain Bowl with farro, quinoa, brussels sprouts topped with homemade kale vinaigrette, Baja Fish Tacos with lime slaw and avocado and Mini Lobster Rolls courtesy of Executive Chef Brad Warner. For those looking to indulge in refreshing sippers with some flare, Beverage Director Inigo Salazar and Pastry Chef Paola Marocchi joined forces to create an oversized boozy dessert – Coco Colada – with frozen coconut mousse topped with a boozy shavings of Blue Curaco and Malibu Rum inside a hand carved chocolate coconut shell, a vegan pineapple soft serve – Pineapple Dole Whip – topped with dragon fruit powder, a tasting shot surfboard for up to six – Wave Runner – with summer classic such as Tequila Sunrise, Lemon Drop and Rum Punch, as well as single serving cocktails such as a Smoked Mule and Strawberry Negroni; eco-friendly biodegradable drinking straws will also be utilized.
