Seabourn kicked off its 2026 Alaska season with Seabourn Encore’s maiden arrival to Vancouver, marking the first time the luxury ship will sail in the region. The deployment marks a key expansion of Seabourn’s established Alaska program, building on the excitement of past seasons spanning multiple ships and decades of exploration in Alaska and British Columbia.
Between May and September 2026, Seabourn Encore will operate a series of seven to 14-day voyages between Vancouver and Juneau, sailing deep into narrow fjords, remote waterways, and coastal communities beyond the reach of larger ships. The 2026 program is designed to provide deeper access to Alaska, with itineraries that move between iconic ports and lesser-known destinations. In addition to calls in places such as Juneau and Ketchikan, the ship explores more remote areas, including Alert Bay, the Inian Islands, and quieter stretches of the Alaska and Canadian Inside Passage that are not accessible to larger vessels. Every voyage will feature glacier viewing, a hallmark of sailing in the region, and will include more opportunities to visit Glacier Bay National Park than any other luxury cruise line, allowing guests to experience multiple glaciers within a single journey.
“The arrival of Seabourn Encore in Alaska is an important milestone for Seabourn,” said Mark Tamis, president of Seabourn. “The ship is exceptionally well suited for this destination with her size and design allowing guests to have a more immersive experience in Alaska and bringing them closer to the landscapes, wildlife and communities that make Alaska so compelling.”
New Alaska Inspired Culinary Experiences
Seabourn Encore’s inaugural Alaska season also introduces Seabourn’s first regionally inspired culinary program, a collection of destination-driven dining, beverage and on-deck experiences designed to reflect Alaska’s unique ingredients, traditions and sense of place. The program includes the Surf & Sear Sailaway, Alaskan Seafood Boil, Fisherman’s Table and a Midnight Sun Dinner and specialty cocktails crafted with Alaska glacial ice and local spirits. More details to come soon.
Expedition-Led Experiences by Team of Experts
Seabourn’s Alaska season will be enriched by a dedicated Expedition Team of naturalists, historians, and wilderness experts, who will provide insight into the region’s history, ecology and wildlife through onboard presentations and live commentary during scenic cruising.
Guests may explore further through Ventures by Seabourn, the line’s optional expedition excursions featuring expert-led Zodiac, kayaking, and hiking experiences that explore remote shorelines, glaciers, and coastal wilderness. A complimentary Helly Hansen Polar Shield Parka is provided for comfort during outdoor experiences.
