THE SANTA MARIA HOTEL & GOLF RESORT DEBUTS NEW STEAKHOUSE IN PANAMA CITY

The Grill House FSH & STK restaurant becomes first fine dining experience and steakhouse for Panama’s exclusive community, golf aficionados, locals and luxury travelers

The Santa Maria Hotel & Golf Resort, which debuted earlier this year in Panama City, has launched a new gastronomic venture in the city’s thriving culinary scene with the opening of The Grill House FSH & STK, a fine dining restaurant inside the resort’s clubhouse that overlooks its prestigious golf course.  Poised to be a top gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, The Grill House concept focuses on classic steakhouse staples while incorporating progressive Panamanian flavors.

“We see ourselves as a destination authority, so Gastronomy is an important part of The Santa Maria experience,” said Fidel Reyes, the resort’s general manager.  “Panama is a vibrant and colorful destination and we want that to come through in our culinary offerings.  The Grill House was created as a comfortable and inviting setting for friends and family to create memories through the food they share together.”

The menu by Sous Chef Julio Artigas, a native of Venezuela who is known throughout Panama for using fresh and locally sourced ingredients as part of his food creations, features traditional prime cuts from a classic rib eye to a delicious Wagyu beef filet, as well as the region’s best seafood.  Since opening earlier this month for tastings, standout dishes already include the lobster-stuffed avocados, crab croquetas, and 28 oz. tomahawk steak served best with Panama’s famous fried plantains called “patacones.” The menu is paired perfectly with an extensive wine selection from regions all over the world.

Open for dinner Monday through Saturday, The Grill House covers approximately 1,300 square feet of space inside the resort’s new private golf clubhouse with both indoor and al fresco seating. The restaurant can host private events, cocktail receptions and can coordinate a private chef’s table for special occasions. Overlooking the signature 9th hole of the Nicklaus Design golf course, The Grill House’s casually elegant design features modern furnishings with warm walnut wood accents that complement the aesthetic of the main hotel.

The Santa Maria Hotel & Golf Resort hotel features 182 luxurious guestrooms and suites with authentic Panamanian design elements.  In addition to The Grill House, the hotel is home to two additional restaurants under the supervision of Executive Chef Dani Osorio, including Mestizo, offering some of the finest Panamanian cuisines, and AQVA serving delicious bites and refreshing cocktails.  During the day, the Coffee Shop and Deli serves Boquete’s rare and exclusive Geisha coffee blend.  Additionally, the resort offers 18,000 square feet of exceptional sun-lit meeting and event space, a state-of-the-art spa and a fitness center.

Most recently, the resort opened its private clubhouse to serve hotel guests and club members with a separate men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges with a full array of amenities, as well as a pro shop that features the latest trends in golf fashions and accessories. The new clubhouse overlooks The Santa Maria’s impressive 18-hole Nicklaus Design par-72 championship course that is managed by the world’s largest golf management company, Troon.  Developed to handle Panama’s unique climate, the exquisite course features rippling fairways, beautiful greens and sculptured bunkers that are challenging for all skill levels.

Easily accessible, The Santa Maria Hotel & Golf Resort is located within an exclusive neighborhood next to the Costa del Este and Santa Maria Business Park and just minutes away from both Tocumen International Airport and Panama City’s city center.
