TradeWinds Introduces TERRA a New Luxury Sanctuary, Villa Selena in Belize

Endless beaches, coral reefs, lush jungles and rainforests, ancient ruins, cultural diversity, and aqua blue waters greet guests arriving at TradeWinds’ newest luxury property, Villa Selena. Akin to a private sanctuary, the six-suite hideaway is located on Belize’s Placencia Peninsula, a mere two-hour flight from the USA. Boasting spacious accommodations, all with stunning lagoon-facing views, the villa has an infinity pool, indoor/outdoor dining, spacious seating areas, scenic roof deck, a dedicated fast boat for water excursions and discovery, and lots of room to explore. Villa Serena, which received its first guests on March 1, is all-inclusive, with a private chef and an array of excursions and land and water-based activities from which to choose.

TradeWinds prides itself on its environmentally friendly approach, utilizing the power from rooftop solar cells to run much of the property, using local ingredients in their private chef prepared meals, and setting the villa in a mecca of surrounding lush greenery. Focusing on reconnecting with nature, guests are encouraged to leave the fast pace of life behind and settle into the tranquility offered by the property’s gardens, a fresh coconut drink in the shade of a palapa, the early morning sounds of the forest as it awakens, a sunset cruise, a morning swim, or curling up with a book under a nearby palm tree.

Included and optional activities are extensive and varied. On, in and under the water possibilities include exploring hidden cays on the dedicated fast boat where guests can see sea turtles, rays, dolphins and manatees (to name a few), snorkeling, scuba diving (Belize is home to the world’s second largest reef), kayaking and paddleboarding. Land opportunities range from trawling and fishing for snapper, snook and blue tilapia to jungle hikes with local guides who offer insight into the local plants and wildlife to submersion into the Maya culture, history and foods to a trip to Maya Heights where guests can rent ATVs, do zip-lining, river tubing, and waterfall jumping.

Then there is the food. A private chef handles all the guests’ dining needs coupled with a few meals in local restaurants and tastings of local fare, such as during a visit to a spice or cacao farm. Menus at Villa Selena can be easily adapted to suit guests’ dietary needs.
