Have you been dreaming about your summer vacation all day long while feeding your birds from one of the items compared here, walking your dog, or doing house chores? There is nothing more relaxing than enjoying some time off work while admiring the beauty of nature. Given the current pandemic-related limitations, a good destination would be one that allows you to spend as much time as possible outdoors. If you also love the sea and the sun, you will probably choose to go somewhere on the coast. Here is what you should pack for your trip.

Beach stuff

Before you think about what to pack in your beach luggage, you should start by choosing a suitable type of bag for your destination. There’s a lot of stuff you get to carry with you to the beach, especially if you travel with kids, so your bag should be as lightweight as possible.

Also, you should rather opt for one or two big bags, instead of several small ones. Your luggage should be easy to carry so that you can enjoy your trip to the beach. There are countless beach bags you can choose from and many of them are quite stylish.

If you are traveling with your partner, all the better, as you can pack some essential items in the beach bag and put the rest in a backpack he or she can carry. Now, when it comes to choosing what to take with you to the beach, the golden rule is to stick to the essentials.

You don’t need to take two books and a tablet as you probably won’t have time for all of them, and you’re most likely going to take your mobile with you as well. One book or magazine is more than enough for one day. But when it comes to beach-related stuff, there is no compromise.

You necessarily need a big towel or blanket you can sit on or you can use to cover your chair. Also, you need another towel to get dried after you swim. So, that’s two towels for each member of your family. Alternatively, you can also get a sarong to keep you warm and dry.

If you’re traveling with kids, getting some plastic toys to play in the sand is a must. Luckily, these are not heavy, but they can take more than a fair share of your bag so you might want to keep them separately in their original bag or another plastic bag.

Depending on the area where you are going and whether you can find some shade there or not, you might have to take a beach umbrella with you. Staying in the sun for too long is neither healthy nor comfortable. So, if you plan on spending all day at the beach, an umbrella can keep you safe in the hot afternoon hours.

If you’re fascinated by marine life, you might want to get some goggles or snorkels to discover what lies on the seafloor. Finally, another must-have you should never forget to take with you to the beach is sunscreen.

Personal items

Some of the personal items you want to pack with you for your beach trip include sunglasses, a hat, some comfortable sandals, a sweater or jacket that might prove useful in the evening when it can get chilly, underwear to change the bathing suit that might be soaking wet and full of sand by the time you want to head home, toothpaste and toothbrush, and a shower gel or soap to take a proper shower and wash that salt off.

Other necessary items

Never forget your documents, especially if you are traveling far from home. Some cash and a card are also necessary. If you want to feel extra safe on your way to and from the beach or while you are shopping or eating in a restaurant, you can put them in a money belt. A pen, a bottle of water, and some earphones are other essentials you should always have at hand.

Now that you have a clear picture of what your beach baggage should look like, it’s time to start planning your trip and choose the coastal area where you would like to spend your vacation.
