1. Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a great destination for an adventurous family holiday. It may be wild and exotic, but it is also safe for kids. Many large-scale resorts offer a wide range of amenities, but there are also great alternatives to these resorts, such as rustic surf lodges, private villas, and family-run boutique hotels.

The beaches in Costa Rica are magnificent, and the whole family can enjoy water sports like kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, and more. There are also plenty of opportunities for hiking through the jungle and seeing beautiful waterfalls and exotic creatures. Jungle canopy ziplining is an adventure not to be missed, and even smaller children can enjoy the experience while strapped to guides. Ponderosa Adventure Park is a great choice for small kids who enjoy watching animals.

If you need a PCR test before you travel by air, rapid PCRs are considered valid. Jackson Hole Covid testing company, Drip Hydration, Solv, and Curative, have certified nurses who will visit you at home to administer it.

2. Spain

Spain is a welcoming country with a family-friendly focus. It has four different climate zones, so you can enjoy outdoor activities throughout the year. You can do water activities at the beach, bike across the valleys, go skiing in the mountains, and take interactive tours of the vibrant cities. Transport is easily accessible, and the food will satisfy all ages. Don’t miss the taste of deep-fried Xurros, which your kids will love.

Most of the cities in Spain are full of art, architecture, parks, and museums. Barcelona is a famous coastal city. Ciutadella Park has a zoo where the kids can spot wildlife. Malaga has some beautiful beaches as well as historical and cultural points of interest. Retiro Park in Madrid is perfect for a family outing and a picnic, while Valencia has a great interactive science museum.

3. Colombia

You may think a visit to Colombia is not a good idea if you have kids. However, Colombian culture is strongly family-oriented. With some awareness and planning, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities in beautiful Colombia. Parque Explora in Medellin, for example, is a learning center, miniature zoo, aquarium, and picnic spot. Seeing electric eels, piranhas, colorful frogs and interactive science games will delight the kids.

At the beaches, you can swim and snorkel in turquoise water. Active families will love Ciudad Perdida, the archeological remains of an ancient city founded 650 years earlier than Machu Picchu.  The climb through the jungle can be daunting, but you can rent mules to make it an enjoyable experience the family will never forget. Coffee is Colombia’s most famous product, and a coffee tour could be memorable for parents and kids.

4. Mexico

Mexico offers biodiversity, sunshine, and many kid-friendly activities to enjoy. Hike to waterfalls, explore caves, or spend a day on the beach. Experience the jungle on a family-friendly hike, or take a boat ride and see monkeys, crocodiles, and more. Learn how to make tortillas and enjoy other Mexican culinary specialties.

A visit to a Mayan community will teach you and your kids more about their traditions and culture. Go on a guided excursion to Teotihuacan and book a balloon ride over the Pyramid of the Sun. Visit the ancient canals of Xochimilco, or pay a visit to the National Museum of Anthropology. Your kids will also enjoy the Acapulco Sports Park.

5. Thailand

A visit to Thailand will expose your family to a rich experience of history, religion, and culture mixed with spicy food and busy streets. It’s relatively affordable and easy to travel around Thailand.

Bangkok is a fascinating city to explore as a family with great attractions like Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, Southeast Asia’s largest aquarium. Take a guided boat tour and explore the floating markets. Phuket’s Splash Jungle Water Park is famous for its water slides, ‘lazy river’ and wave pool. Thailand also has hundreds of well-run cookery classes, some of which will keep the whole family entertained.

Conclusion

Whether you decide on a family vacation close to home or one that’s further away, there are many family-friendly, safe destinations. The above destinations all have plenty to offer families with kids of all ages to enjoy, whether it’s beaches, culture, adventure, wild animals or food.
