Avalon Wins “Best River Cruise Line” for Second Year in a Row

After four weeks of voting from the readers of USA Today 10Best, the results are in … Avalon Waterways was chosen as the “Best River Cruise Line” for the second year in a row. The company’s Suite Ship, the Avalon Envision – christened in 2019 by best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert – was also named the “Best River Cruise Ship” for a second, consecutive year by voters. In fact, four of the company’s Suite Ships were voted into the top eight (8)!

“Avalon is 100 percent guest-focused and to receive this endorsement from our travelers, recognizing all we’ve done to provide them an alternative to the traditional cruise experience, is not only rewarding, it’s inspired us to continue to elevate the cruising experience across the globe, on and off our ships,” said Pam Hoffee, president of Avalon Waterways.

As Avalon guests set sail down the world’s most legendary waters, they enjoy a curated collection of the most intriguing experiences to immerse in, on board and off. Whether taking a guided walking tour of one of Europe’s great cities, joining a cooking class or paddling a canoe, Avalon Choice selections of Classic, Discovery and Active excursions offer a wide range of possibilities. With as many as 28 included excursions on their cruising itinerary, the compass is in guests’ hands to choose any direction they desire.

With four (4) of the company’s Suite Ships landing in the Top 8 of 10Best’s “Best Cruise Ship,” it’s also clear Avalon is making a splash on board. “Our entire fleet of Suite Ships, featuring boutique-hotel-inspired Panorama Suites – available on two full decks of every ship – provide the industry’s only Open-Air Balcony with the widest-opening windows in cruising, but that’s not all,” added Hoffee. “Every Panorama Suite offers guests Comfort Collection beds. These beds do not face the wall; they face the ever-changing scenery for which river cruising is famous.”
