With less than 100 days to go to the opening ceremony of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games the Olympic Torch Relay is on its way around South Korea and excitement is building in the lead-up to the Games.
Korea Tourism Organization has released a new detailed guide with venue maps, competition schedule, regional attractions and tour course information to assist visitors to the Games. Information on transportation to and from the venues is included.
A new KTX high speed rail line will operate between Incheon Airport/Seoul city and Gangneung Station on the east coast of Korea cutting travel time to 1.5 hours making it easy to get to the Games. Shuttle buses will then operate from the main rail hubs to the venues. Ticket holders will be able to ride the shuttle buses free of charge on the day of competition making it easy for athletes and visitors to get to the venues and travel around the region.
One of the best ways to travel around the country during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games is to take advantage of the special Pyeongchang Korail Pass being offered to foreign visitors for travel throughout the country between 1 February and 25 March, 2018. Five day and seven day passes (for travel on consecutive days only) are available as well as youth passes (with ISIC student card) and saver passes for groups of 2-5 people travelling together.
Detailed information on the Pyeongchang Korail Pass and how to purchase is available on the Korail website: www.letskorail.com/pyeongchang
There are a huge number of attractions just in the regions of the Olympic venues – Pyeongchang, Gangneung and Jeongseon. Visitors may like to stay overnight in Woljeongsa Temple nearby Pyeongchang, visit traditional markets, enjoy hot springs and much more located in the region.
