Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park proudly announces the completion of an extensive transformation, introducing the exclusive Fairmont Gold experience along with the renovation of 83 Fairmont Gold guest rooms and suites and Fairmont Gold Lounge on the 15th floor. This milestone unveiling showcases a sophisticated renovation, revealing intricate details of the design, Fairmont Gold guest experience, and the overarching As Good As Gold campaign. With a commitment to delivering an exceptional and truly golden experience for guests, the property is poised to redefine luxury and sophistication in the heart of the Windy City. 

Fairmont Gold, a “hotel within a hotel” concept, elevates the art of exceptional service to create an exclusive, personalized experience for guests from check-in to check-out and beyond. Rooted in three fundamental pillars, the Fairmont Gold experience centers on orchestrating exceptional service, sharing warmth through anticipatory service, and expanding the guest experience beyond the Fairmont Gold Lounge. 

Under the creative guidance of the renowned design team at KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group, led by designers Sara Talleux, Susan Jacobs, Avery Swartz, and Adam Adamczyk, the renovation promises a revitalized and unparalleled guest experience – truly As Good As Gold. The team’s expertise in crafting luxurious and iconic spaces aligns with Fairmont’s vision for a Golden Awakening.

  • Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays and from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekends 
  • All-day refreshments are available 
  • Evening light appetizers, accompanied by an honor bar, create a sophisticated setting for guests to unwind from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
  • Desserts are served from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Rooted in three fundamental pillars, the design inspiration for Fairmont Gold centers on the rich legacy of Fairmont, known for hosting celebrities and royals, discerning a timeless and unrivaled presence. This inspiration also revolves around paying homage to the building’s post-modern architecture, influencing material selections, architectural detailing, and the overall color palette. Foundational elements include the warm hues of the stone-clad building, the soft green of the copper roof, and the steel blue backdrop of the city of Chicago. Drawing from the iconic location near Millennium Park and the Cloud Gate sculpture, sculptural pieces contribute to informing art selections and defining moments throughout the renovated spaces. 

The comprehensive renovation spanning across the Fairmont Gold rooms and suites, feature significant updates including new applied molding, carpet, expanded bathrooms with dual vanities, a walk-in shower, and refreshed tile and stone throughout. The suites and corridors boast new seating, case goods, artwork, mirrors, drapery, plumbing fixtures, and decorative lighting. This comprehensive rejuvenation ensures a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and the hotel’s historic charm. 

The primary goal was to improve the bathrooms, with a strategic emphasis on reconfiguration, and increased fixture count. Within the lounge area, several captivating features contribute to its new aesthetic allure. Notably, the built-in creamy lacquered bookshelves adorned with a moire fabric back panel stand out as a visual masterpiece. Illuminated from below, these shelves cast a soft, enchanting glow, transforming the entire unit into a stunning focal point. To further enhance the lounge’s design, the KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group introduced subtle yet sophisticated transparent screens. This design choice not only pays homage to post-modern architecture but also serves as subtle “mental barriers” delineating distinct spaces. An exemplary application of this concept can be observed in the open layout of the food and beverage area, where instead of conventional enclosures, transparent screens provide an elegant backdrop. This thoughtful design touch adds an element of sophistication while maintaining an inviting atmosphere within the lounge.
