Having opened in 2020, the much-loved five-star Relais and Chateaux property, Maslina Resort, on Hvar, Croatia, has announced that it is ready to begin a new story, with the expansion of an additional 5 luxurious Villas and 12 Residences, a turn-key project operated under the Maslina brand.
Expected for completion between 2024-2025, The New Storyboard expands on the ‘Mindful Luxury’ philosophy of the resort, with the new Villas and Residences combining wood, stone from the neighboring island of Brac, and natural elements to create a place of comfort that is embedded into its natural surroundings from which it was born.
Situated in the stunning Maslinica Bay, Maslina is surrounded by olive groves and terraced vineyards and stretches across two hectares of lush pine forest overlooking the crystalline Adriatic Sea. Scattered in nature, the terrain of each of the new builds is sloped towards the Adriatic Sea with the villas being coated with green roofs at different heights to assimilate themselves into the landscape.
Wood is used as both an aesthetic and structural element throughout, with a façade that has been color-matched to the bark of the Mediterranean pine that carpets over the island. Constructed using cross-laminated timber sourced from sustainably managed forests, both the Villas and Residences are designed to reduce the impact on the environment, in keeping with the resort’s sustainability philosophy. The timber reduces the emissions associated with manufacturing, transporting, and installing building materials by up to 25%, in addition to having better thermal and acoustic properties.
Fitting in with the design approach of the resort, the four and five-bedroom Villas will be fully furnished in Maslina’s style, with red terracotta, lime-stone rocks, and dark pine green touches throughout. Both villas feature a state-of-the-art kitchen, an extensive living room area, heated infinity swimming pool, private garden, jacuzzi, sauna, and fitness area, all carefully designed with Maslina’s wellness philosophy in mind.
Bedrooms are positioned according to each site’s surroundings to highlight the Mediterranean pines, the boulders, and the view, whilst the living areas all have a direct and seamless connection to the outside, with the interior that transitions into the horizon and sea.
The Four-Bedroom Villa Luxury Villa contains 327sqm of indoor space, including 3 king-sized beds and a twin bed. With five sea view terraces, a 31sqm heated infinity pool, and a 36qm wellness area the Villa allows guests to embrace Hvar Islands’ natural world.
The largest of its type, and on the first row to the sea, the Five-Bedroom Luxury Villa has over 354sqm of indoor space, with three king-sized beds and two twin beds, perfect for larger groups and families. With open interiors that are enveloped with nature, guests can kick back and relax indoors, or head outside and enjoy their expansive 46sqm infinity pool and nine sea view terraces.
Similarly, each of the sea-facing two- and three-bedroom residences have been mindfully created using modern technology and natural materials. Promising privacy and comfort, each of the units range between 184sqm and 267sqm and have been created to feel like its own unique world, each with a garden, terrace, and pool that ensure the comfort of each guest.
The two-bedroom residence can accommodate up to four adults, with two king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers or bathtubs. A fully equipped kitchen, extensive living room, and dining offer ample room for entertaining, while the outdoor areas include a 28sqm terrace, 9sqm heated pool, and a parking space.
The three-bedroom residences can sleep up to six adults, with three king-size bedrooms, each with their own terrace, in total combining 70sqm and a 17sqm heated pool. The largest, the Three Bedroom Luxury Duplex, offers 152sqm of indoor space, with the bedrooms designed according to the client’s wishes.
Buyers of the properties will join the Maslina Privileged Owners Program, with all accompanying facilities fully managed by the resort. This includes concierge services, housekeeping, maintenance and emergency repairs around the clock, in addition to generous discounts for both themselves and family and friends at Maslina’s Pharomatiq Spa and their MICHELIN Guide recommended restaurant which follows a “garden to table” philosophy with many items grown in its 7,000sqm organic garden.
With a rental program that guarantees four weeks of owner usage per year, in addition to the delegation of property management and Sales and Marketing to Maslina Resort, Maslina’s new story offers a carefree way of managing an owner’s investment, with each owner expected to receive up to 6% of the value of the property per year in rental income.
