Once in Mykonos opens this May, offering paired back luxury, vibrant food and chic interiors

once in mykonos resort

Mykonos, Greece’s most popular island, is adding another gem to its crown this summer with the launch of the island’s newest five-star resort, Once in Mykonos. Opening its doors in May, Once in Mykonos is situated on the island’s beautiful southwest coastline and overlooks the iconic Ornos beach. The resort embodies paired back luxury and elegance with a nod to the resort’s nostalgic and glamorous past, as a luxurious and cosmopolitan villa. On arrival, guests will be made to feel right at home and free to connect with nature through its immersive surroundings and relaxing sea views: a home away from home.

Design

A former luxury villa – frequented by artists, intellectuals, and people of influence – the property has been reimagined as Mykonos’ latest five-star island resort, under the expert eye of designer and architect Fivos Stavrides of F Studio Designers. Once In Mykonos’s concept has been dreamt up to revive its single purpose: to keep welcoming guests on the island and bring its past to light through genuine hospitality.

Inspired by ancient Greek amphitheatres, the resort expertly combines impressive infrastructure and authentic Cycladic style with eco-friendly, post-modern design. Boho-chic interiors are achieved with whitewashed walls and the use of locally sourced, natural materials. Stavrides succeeds in bringing the outside in with Mykonian stone, copper and natural reeds all a significant source of inspiration for the architect and his vision for the resort.

The resort boasts a stunning infinity pool, 59 elegant rooms with minimalist interiors, including three Signature Suites and two 2-bedroom villas with private pools. Rooms are spacious and light against the backdrop of the turquoise Aegean, and the villas are the perfect choice for guests looking for privacy and space.

F&B

In the hotel’s pool restaurant, guests will enjoy a unique culinary journey across numerous gourmet destinations. Head Chef, Nikos Skordakis, will work alongside Louis Hotels’ distinguished Executive Chef, Kyriakos Sotiriou, who has many years of experience in five-star hotels and Michelin star restaurants. The restaurant will highlight the best of Greek and Mediterranean flavours and produce, in an atmospheric setting. In the next-door pool bar, creative mixologists will create theatrical signature cocktails for guests, as they bask in the Grecian sunshine with an alfresco drink, and uninterrupted sea views. The announcement of an international luxury restaurant brand for the resort’s fine-dining offering is imminent.

Spa and Wellness

Once in Mykonos’ spa is a wellness haven, with an indoor and outdoor pool, hammam, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The spa is perfect for those looking to relax and rejuvenate, offering personalised treatments designed to awaken the senses, relieve stress and restore the body’s natural balance.

The signature spa treatments use organic ingredients from the Aegean Sea and Mykonian earth, which is rich in nutrients and nourishing to the skin. Therapeutic massages are also offered in the spa’s two treatment rooms, and the beauty salon’s manicure and pedicure stations allow guests to top up their tips. The fully equipped gym and the tranquil outdoor yoga stage round off the wellness experience, allowing guests to exercise with uninterrupted views of the sea.

Exploring the Island

As well as state-of-the-art facilities, Once in Mykonos offers unrivalled experiences to guests, taking advantage of Mykonos’ crystal clear waters and stunning coastline. Private cruises with Don Blue Yachting take guests on a journey of discovery around the island’s picturesque bays and hidden coves, as well as tours of neighbouring islands, Delos and Rhenia. The resort is also happy to organise private sea excursions by RIB, or scuba diving for guests – divers can see Greece’s diverse marine life as well as traces of the Greek and Roman empire’s ancient ruins under water. Once in Mykonos is an oasis for those who need to escape from the stresses of everyday life.
