Orlando may be known for sunshine and theme parks, but the arrival of the holiday season transforms the destination. Cinderella Castle provides a backdrop for festive fireworks, Hogwarts glows beneath seasonal projections, enormous balloons travel through Universal Studios Florida and millions of lights illuminate parks and attractions across Central Florida.
The 2026 holiday calendar includes returning favourites at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and Gaylord Palms, along with local celebrations that reveal another side of the destination.
Some smaller community events have yet to announce their complete 2026 schedules. Visitors should confirm dates, admission requirements and operating hours directly with each organizer before travelling.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom
One of Orlando’s best-known holiday traditions returns to Magic Kingdom on selected evenings from November 8 through December 22, 2026.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separately ticketed after-hours celebration with seasonal entertainment, character appearances, holiday treats and access to selected attractions. Highlights traditionally include Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks and live performances in front of Cinderella Castle.
Artificial snow falls along Main Street, U.S.A., creating a suitably wintry atmosphere despite Florida’s generally mild temperatures. Party admission is separate from regular daytime park admission, and popular December dates can sell out.
The 2026 event is scheduled for:
- November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27 and 29
- December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 22
Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios
Disney Jollywood Nights brings a more glamorous holiday atmosphere to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The five-hour, separately ticketed event combines vintage Hollywood style with live music, dancing, character encounters and seasonal entertainment.
Highlights include Disney Holidays in Hollywood, a musical production hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, along with themed lounges and festive food and drinks. Selected attractions also remain open during the party, often with shorter waits than during regular park hours.
The 2026 Disney Jollywood Nights schedule runs on selected evenings from November 7, 2026, through January 5, 2027. The event takes place from 7:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., with ticket holders permitted to enter Hollywood Studios from 5:30 p.m.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
From November 27 through December 30, 2026, EPCOT celebrates seasonal customs from around the world during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
Holiday Kitchens located around World Showcase offer seasonal dishes and drinks inspired by different cultures. Storytellers and performers share traditions associated with Christmas, Hanukkah and other winter celebrations.
The Candlelight Processional is traditionally one of the festival’s central events. A celebrity narrator retells the Christmas story accompanied by an orchestra and massed choir at the America Gardens Theatre. Narrators and performance schedules are usually announced closer to the festival.
Unlike Disney’s two after-hours holiday parties, the EPCOT festival is included with regular theme park admission, although food, drinks and some reserved dining experiences cost extra.
Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Orlando’s 2026 holiday celebration runs from November 14, 2026, through January 3, 2027. Seasonal entertainment is offered across Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe.
In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and wizarding Paris receive festive decorations and seasonal touches. Hogwarts Castle becomes the backdrop for an evening projection experience, while hot Butterbeer and holiday merchandise add to the atmosphere.
At Islands of Adventure, Seuss Landing becomes Who-ville for Grinchmas. Visitors can see the live Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular and may have an opportunity to meet the Grinch.
Universal Studios Florida hosts the Universal Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s. Large balloons, floats, performers and characters from popular Universal stories travel through the park before Santa Claus arrives to complete the procession.
Most core holiday entertainment is included with regular admission. Check the official Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort guide for showtimes and any separately priced experiences.
SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration
SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration begins November 6, 2026, and continues on selected dates through early January 2027.
The park is decorated with extensive light displays, including the Sea of Trees, where illuminated trees reflect across the central lagoon. Returning entertainment is expected to include seasonal shows, ice skating, holiday characters, festive food and an evening fireworks presentation.
Families can also look for the Sesame Street Christmas Parade and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer experiences, subject to confirmation in the final entertainment schedule.
SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is generally included with regular park admission, making it easier to combine daytime attractions with the evening festivities. Dates and program details will be published on the official SeaWorld Orlando Christmas Celebration page.
ICE! Featuring The Polar Express at Gaylord Palms
A decidedly colder holiday experience awaits at Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee. From November 13, 2026, through January 3, 2027, the resort’s signature ICE! attraction will feature scenes inspired by The Polar Express.
The walk-through experience is constructed from approximately two million pounds of ice, transformed into elaborate sculptures and environments by skilled artisans. Visitors are provided with parkas before entering because the attraction is maintained at a temperature well below freezing.
Beyond ICE!, Christmas at Gaylord Palms typically includes snow tubing, seasonal shows, gingerbread decorating, character experiences and extensive decorations throughout the resort’s glass atrium. Individual activities may require separate admission.
Reservations are advisable, particularly during weekends and school holidays. Details are available through the Gaylord Hotels Christmas program.
Dazzling Nights at Harry P. Leu Gardens
Harry P. Leu Gardens provides a welcome alternative to the theme parks. Each holiday season, Dazzling Nights transforms the botanical garden into an immersive evening trail filled with illuminated landscapes, interactive installations, music and projection effects.
The experience offers a more relaxed setting than Orlando’s major resorts while still delivering impressive visual displays. Visitors follow a designated walking route through the garden, so comfortable footwear is recommended.
The garden’s seasonal operating schedule indicates that its holiday programming will return from late November 2026 into early January 2027, although detailed dates and ticket information had not been released at the time of writing. Check the Leu Gardens events calendar before making plans.
Downtown Orlando’s Holiday Celebration at Lake Eola
Downtown Orlando hosts its own community holiday celebration at Lake Eola Park. The centrepiece is the Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree, a 64-foot tree decorated with thousands of ornaments and animated lights synchronized with music and the Lake Eola fountain.
The annual season usually begins with a public tree-lighting celebration featuring live entertainment, food vendors and appearances by Santa. A Merry Market has also operated on selected December weekends, providing an opportunity to shop from local vendors.
The City of Orlando had not released its complete 2026 holiday schedule at the time of publication. Current announcements will appear on the City of Orlando events calendar.
Lake Eola is surrounded by restaurants and is easily combined with dinner downtown. The celebration also offers budget-conscious travellers a holiday activity away from the admission costs of Orlando’s major attractions.
Now Snowing in Celebration
A short drive from Walt Disney World, Celebration Town Center presents an annual holiday program that brings nightly “snowfall” to the streets of the master-planned community.
Now Snowing traditionally includes seasonal music, carriage rides, festive decorations and evening snowfall effects. Restaurants and shops around Market Street remain part of the experience, making Celebration an appealing destination for a relaxed dinner followed by a walk through the decorated town centre.
The program usually runs from late November through December. Dates for the 2026 season should be confirmed with Celebration Town Center before visiting.
Holiday Events at LEGOLAND Florida Resort
LEGOLAND Florida Resort, located in Winter Haven southwest of Orlando, traditionally presents Holidays at LEGOLAND on selected dates during November and December.
Designed primarily for families with younger children, the event generally features a LEGO Christmas tree, seasonal characters, holiday entertainment and themed activities. Its Kids’ New Year’s Eve celebration allows children to welcome the new year with music and fireworks well before midnight.
The complete 2026 program had not been announced at the time of writing. Families should consult LEGOLAND Florida Resort for confirmed dates and admission details.
Planning an Orlando Holiday Vacation
Orlando is exceptionally busy during Thanksgiving week and from the days before Christmas through New Year’s Day. Travellers visiting during these periods should reserve accommodations, theme park admission, special-event tickets and popular restaurants as early as possible.
A few planning tips can make the experience easier:
- Confirm whether an event requires regular admission, a separate ticket or both.
- Do not assume that every holiday show is presented daily.
- Allow additional travel time because seasonal traffic can be heavy.
- Pack layers for cool evenings, especially for outdoor shows.
- Reserve dining in advance at theme parks and major resorts.
- Use official event calendars to check for schedule changes.
- Consider early November or early December for lighter crowds.
Although daytime temperatures can remain warm, evenings occasionally become surprisingly cool. A light jacket is usually sufficient, but colder weather is possible.
Where to Stay for an Orlando Holiday Visit
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has one of Walt Disney World’s most atmospheric holiday settings, with a towering Christmas tree and rustic Pacific Northwest-inspired lobby.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel offers a convenient option for guests planning time at Universal Epic Universe, with direct access to the park for registered hotel guests.
Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center places visitors at the centre of its extensive Christmas program and is also within easy reach of Walt Disney World.
The Alfond Inn in Winter Park offers a quieter boutique experience north of downtown Orlando, convenient for exploring local restaurants, museums and neighbourhood holiday events.
Celebrating the Season Beyond the Theme Parks
Orlando’s theme parks deliver some of the destination’s most elaborate holiday spectacles, but the wider region offers plenty of reasons to venture beyond the resort gates. Botanical gardens, downtown parks, local markets and community celebrations provide a more relaxed view of the season.
Combining one or two major theme park events with a local light display or evening in Winter Park, Celebration or downtown Orlando can create a holiday trip with more variety—and reveal that the city’s seasonal appeal extends far beyond its famous attractions.

This post sound really wonderful.
I truly enjoyed that one, because it is full of interesting facts and it is a
kind of easygoing article. I spent just a few minutes studying, and
due to well-structured text, so I know it completely.
Thanks!
