A comprehensive transformation

The 22 floor high hotel has renovated its restaurant, lobby, guest rooms, meeting and events area and social spaces, in addition to the famous Summit Bar on the 21st floor.

Meriläinen has experience from 2008 and has managed the hotel since 2016. He is a passionate General Manager and is excited about the recent development of Oslo as a trendy and popular destination.

“Today the hotel looks better, the food tastes better and the service level has improved. Our talented and experienced team offers Scandinavian friendliness and outstanding service in perfect harmony. We strive on being Scandinavian by heart and international by style”, says Meriläinen.

The very popular success restaurant concept 26 North Restaurant & Social Club, offering Norwegian tapas among other dishes, has opened in the ground floor. The kitchen is led by Scott Ferguson, who is originally Australian and is very passionate about the Nordic style of cooking.

Snøhetta has designed the new Summit Bar on the 21st floor, making the bar one of the most popular bars in the capital.

“This is truly the best sky bar in Norway, with world-class hand-crafted cocktails and spectacular views of the city. This is a great supplement to the new and exciting bar scene in Oslo. We offer the best view of the capital and here the guests can feel the heart and pulse of Oslo without even leaving the hotel”, Meriläinen continues.

Oslo’s most experienced meeting place

Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Oslo focuses heavily on meeting the needs and desires of both business travelers and conference guests. The meeting and event area has therefore been totally renovated and can now host up to 1200 guests on one floor.

– Business and conference has always been an important part of our mission. Thus, it was only natural to focus on these specific requirements when renovating our hotel. With the rise of major trends like bleisure travel and staycations, our typical business guests are now also interested in areas that previously was used mostly by the leisure travelers alone. Our vision is to provide our guests with the best ‘bleisure’ experience in all of Oslo, Meriläinen says.

With more than 40 years of experience, combined with the most renewed and modern equipment, Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Oslo, is the most experienced meeting facilitator in the city.

“As the first international hotel in Oslo, we appreciate the importance of local flair and personality. With almost 45 years of experience, we understand Oslo from without and within, giving our guests world-class experiences, with local anchor”, comments Meriläinen.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Oslo between The Royal Palace, their gardens and the theatre district, offering the guests the possibility to experience the heart and the pulse of the city from a place that is central, yet calm.
