To mark the start of the new year, Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas is leaning into the rising demand for sports tourism by introducing two new short-break packages focused on locally immersive active pursuits in the shoulder months, ahead of its reopening on 6th March 2026. The 16th-century finca hotel, part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition portfolio of unique retreats, sits within an 810-acre private estate in Mallorca’s UNESCO-listed Tramuntana Mountains – a renowned haven for cyclists and hikers. Designed for active travellers and amateur athletes alike, the intensity and routes can be tailored to suit all levels. Whether guests are seeking a revitalising reset after winter, or preparing for a race, the new cycling and walking experiences combine physically engaging activity with gentle restoration in some of Mallorca’s most stunning natural surroundings.
The Son Bunyola Cycling Adventure spans three days and includes a four-hour guided ride through the iconic Tramuntana Mountains, renowned for their world-class cycling routes and sweeping Mediterranean views. To aid recovery and relaxation, guests can enjoy a one-hour deep-tissue massage using natural ingredients inspired by the Tramuntana. A relaxed picnic in the estate grounds or a leisurely lunch of authentic Mallorcan dishes using ingredients from the estate is also included, as well as a private wine tasting for two with a sommelier in the hotel’s historic former oil mill.
The Son Bunyola Walking Escape follows the same carefully curated itinerary, exchanging the cycling element for a four-hour guided hike through the Tramuntana mountain range, with trails that lead directly from the hotel’s door. At a gentler pace, guests can fully absorb the region’s dramatic scenery and ancient trails, before enjoying the same restorative massage, dining experience and wine tasting.
Created in response to growing demand for travel experiences that combine purposeful movement with meaningful relaxation, these three-night packages invite guests to explore Mallorca’s most celebrated landscapes at a rewarding pace tailored to their goals. Designed to leave travellers feeling refreshed, rebalanced and deeply connected to their surroundings, both experiences place time outdoors at the heart of the Son Bunyola stay.
This package must be booked for a minimum of three nights and is available only in March, April, and November. Rates include, for each guest: luxury accommodation, daily breakfast, one four-hour guided ride, one set lunch or picnic, one deep-tissue massage, wine tasting, and an in-room minibar.
