Sustainable Swimwear Label The Saltwater Collective Celebrates Body Positivity

Newly launched line features figure-flattering styles designed for a range of body types

Ocean-friendly women’s swimwear label, The Saltwater Collective, has released a new spring/summer 2019 collection that is redefining the image of sustainable fashion. Ethically manufactured in Toronto, Ontario from an innovative fabric created out of recycled ocean waste, Saltwater Collective bathing suits range from sizes XS to XL and are designed to complement a diverse array of female physiques.

The emerging Canadian label’s trendy new line of elevated basics includes a form-flattering one-piece and two mix-and-match bikini styles that are intended to seamlessly integrate into 2018’s celebrated debut collection. Customers are encouraged to build their own desired look, with various coverage options and customizable separates that range from the feminine Josi Top – fashioned for women with larger busts – to the high-waisted Morgan Bottoms, which hug curves in all the right places. Fun, spring-inspired shades include a candy apple red, vibrant citrus yellow, teal blue and more, giving way to an expanded color palette that also offers black, ivory and crepe neutrals.

“We are incredibly proud of our new collection, which really showcases the progression of The Saltwater Collective brand as well as our product longevity and quality,” says Owner & Designer Camilla James. “As a small Canadian business that believes in ethical fashion practices and providing an inclusive space for all women, we are so excited to offer a selection of beautiful new garments that inspire self-confidence and body positivity in our customers.”

As part of the spring/summer 2019 launch and an ongoing push to challenge the norms of the traditional swimwear industry, The Saltwater Collective put out an open casting call to customers, friends and fans of the brand who participated in a raw, unfiltered photo shoot. The resulting unedited imagery can be viewed on The Saltwater Collective’s official website, where the new collection is available for purchase as well as through select national and international retailers.
