Heritage Le Telfair in Mauritius has undergone a three-month renovation and re-opened recently as Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort.
The member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World re-launched as a tropical island escape with freshly redesigned and redecorated rooms, suites and common areas. All rooms now include a dedicated butler and new personal beach attendants will be present for the sun worshippers. A clef d’or concierge is available to ensure every customer request is not only met, but expectations are exceeded.

Over-looking Heritage Golf Club is the iconic 19th Century Chateau de Bel Ombre where guests are invited to dine during their stay. The Chateau has been given a fresh new opulent look, channelling an Anglo-Indian interior design. A new wine cellar and wooden deck are on offer, providing an alfresco dining space with panoramic views of a newly created French-style landscaped garden. For the first time couples are able to stay the night at the romantic, adult-only location.
A brand new wellness pavilion for yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Qigong and meditation sessions is now available along with three or five day wellness packages, designed personally for each guest. Wellness walks, healthy corners at each restaurant, osteopath and wellness specialist appointments and detox cocktails have been introduced.
There is a new children’s club layout that includes a new baby and teen’s corner with the only free baby club on the island in operation from 8.30am – 4pm daily. New teenager programmes are available showcasing the outdoor activities on offer around the Domaine de Bel Ombre, such as trekking at the Frederica Nature Reserve, an open air-cinema on the beach, bike tours, golf lessons, kite surfing and paddle boarding.
The new interior design blends contemporary lines and colours with timeless architectural features, characterised by fresh colours with inspiration drawn from natural elements such as the sea, sky and tropical foliage.
New culinary experiences include a gourmet VIP tent dinner and wine pairing option at Anabella’s self-service restaurant plus a champagne sun-downer experience at Gin’Ja – the resorts pan-Asian restaurant. A picnic style beach-basket is on offer at La Plage for an alternative lunch and Asian street food is available at Gin’Ja.
The new ‘Kiosque Gourmand’ is music to the ears of guests with a sweet tooth, as a selection of pancakes, homemade ice creams, tea and pastries is on offer in the afternoons.
