2018 Pacific Wine & Food Classic Unveils Featured Chefs And Wineries August 18 – 19

In August 2018, the Pacific Wine & Food Classic drew food and wine lovers to the picturesque Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort in Newport Beach for a weekend celebration of Southern California’s vibrant culinary scene. Presented by Pacific Sales and powered by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the festival brought together more than 60 top regional chefs and over 100 wine, beer, and cocktail stations for a summer-inspired gourmet experience. Set against ocean breezes and live music, guests sampled everything from premium Napa Valley wines to craft cocktails, paella, tacos, gelatos and more — all while supporting the event’s beneficiary, the Golden Rule charity, which provides assistance to members of the restaurant community when they need it most.

At the 2018 edition, attendees enjoyed elevated bites from standout local kitchens alongside standout pours from wineries such as Perrier-Jouët, Ruffino, Black Stallion Estate Winery, Bouchaine, Quilt, Rosenblum Cellars, and many others. From rosés and pinot noirs to Merlots and sparkling selections, the range of wines reflected both local and international influences — all framed by the classic California coastal setting that has become symbolic of the festival’s relaxed yet refined spirit.

Over the years, the Pacific Wine & Food Classic has evolved into one of Southern California’s most celebrated food and wine festivals. With an emphasis on quality over quantity, the event has consistently drawn a curated roster of chefs, mixologists, and winemakers, along with limited attendance to create a high-touch, intimate tasting environment that encourages discovery and enjoyment.

What’s New: Pacific Wine & Food Classic 2025 and Beyond

After several successful editions, the Pacific Wine & Food Classic returns once again with a fresh lineup and new experiences. The 2025 Classic took place on September 20, 2025, at the same beloved waterfront setting — Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort — attracting food and wine lovers back to the shores of Newport Beach for what organizers called a celebration of local culinary talent and world-class pours.

This year’s festival expanded its interactive tastings with new attractions, including the Dessert Garden, a walk-through showcase of sweet creations perfect for pairing with afternoon rosés and bubbles. Guests also experienced the Paso Robles Grand Wine Pavilion, featuring some of California’s most exciting and notable wine producers, alongside premium craft cocktails from top spirit brands.

The lineup of participating chefs and restaurants reflected the dynamic diversity of the region’s food scene, including local favorites like Ellie’s led by Chef Jason Witzl, Lola’s by MFK, and creative concepts like Crema Artisan Bakers & OC Baking Co., CUCINA enoteca, Descanso, and more — offering a blend of modern takes on classic dishes, globally inspired cuisine, and innovative small bites to complement the deep wine list.

Looking Ahead: Pacific Wine & Food Classic 2026

Fans of the festival can already look forward to the 2026 Pacific Wine & Food Classic, set for September 12, 2026 at Newport Dunes. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, as the event continues to limit capacity to ensure a high-quality guest experience. Along with the core tastings of food, wine and cocktails, future editions promise to build on popular features like waterfront views, music, chef activations and elevated tasting lounges designed for discovery and celebration.

Whether you’re a dedicated oenophile or a casual lover of great food and coastal vibes, the Pacific Wine & Food Classic offers a rare opportunity to celebrate the craft of Southern California’s chefs and winemakers in one unforgettable setting — a true tribute to flavor, community, and the spirit of coastal indulgence.
