In honor of National Tequila Day (July 24), we’re spicing up summer and sharing 22 tequila cocktails at some of the dreamiest destinations in the US – and beyond. 

From a classic key lime to a refreshing passion fruit along with blood orange, prickly pear, lavender and more, we’ve your next happy hour covered. 

Key Lime Margarita at Pelican Grand Beach Resort 

Transport yourself to paradise with this refreshing take on a classic margarita crafted by Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. With a sweet touch agave nectar and finished with a graham cracker crusted rim – this lively libation is sure to satisfy summer cravings! 

Ingredients:

1.5 oz premium silver tequila

8 slices of fresh key limes or 1.5 oz fresh key lime juice

1.0 oz agave nectar 

0.5 oz triple sec

Graham crackers, crushed

Instructions:

Stir all ingredients togethershake and strain over ice in a traditional highball glass, lightly dust rim with graham cracker and garnish with a fresh key lime.

Passion Fruit Margarita at the Nest Rooftop Bar at Wild Dunes Resort

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Milagro Silver

0.75 oz Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur

0.5 oz Lime Juice

0.5 oz Triple Sec

1 bar spoon of Agave syrup

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a shaker, then shake well on ice. Strain drink into a Rocks Glass with fresh ice to serve. Rim the glass with black sea salt, a blood orange, and lime wheels.

Dean’s Margarita at Fearing’s Restaurant 

What is summer without this Southwestern Texas classic? Dean’s Margarita is an essential at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. Infused with the classic agave flavors of Dean’s Bar Aged Reposado, this simply superb margarita tastefully illustrates the years it took to perfect this signature drink. 

Ingredients:

1½ oz Dean’s Bar Aged Avion Reposado

¾ oz Damiana herbal liquor

½ oz Agave nectar

¾ oz Lime juice

Instructions:

Fill a shaker with ice, then add all ingredients and shake vigorously until tin is frosted and beaded with sweat. Serve over ice in a glass with a salted rim and garnish.

Sunset Haze at Trump International Hotel Waikiki

Mixed to match the glorious Honolulu sunsets, the Sunset Haze at Trump International Hotel Waikikiscreams summer cocktail. This special concoction offers a fresh and tropical flare with its addition of Jalapeno infused tequila. Take a sip for the ultimate beachy vibe.

Ingredients:

1 oz Jalapeno infused tequila

½ oz Mezcal

3 parts Grapefruit Juice

Soda Water

Candied grapefruit wheel

Instructions:

Fill the highball with ice, add tequila + mezcal + grapefruit juice, top with soda, garnish with candied grapefruit wheel.

4oz Cointreau

12oz tequila

6oz passion fruit giffard

1oz passion fruit syrup

3oz lime juice

3oz simple syrup

3oz grapefruit juice

6oz cranberry juice

Instructions:

Combine ingredients in a shaker and shake well. Pour over ice and add flowers to garnish. 

Lizzie Sipper at The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa 

The Lizzie Sipper at The Brown Palace is a crowd-pleasing cocktail perfect for sipping al fresco. This exuberant pink drink incorporates hints of rose water to complement the smooth taste of tequila for a fresh and floral flavor.  

Ingredients:

2 oz Patron Silver

1 oz fresh watermelon puree

¾ oz Brown Palace honey

¾ oz fresh squeeze lime juice

3 drops rose water

Instructions:

Shake over ice, strain into rocks glass over crushed ice. Garnish with mint sprig. Sip and enjoy!

Blue One Ocean Margarita at Grand Lucayan

Ingredients:

2 oz Jose Cuervo tequila

1 oz Cointreau

1 oz blue curacao

Freshly squeezed lime

Instructions:

Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake well. Pour into a chilled glass that’s garnished with lime wedge and salt.

Lavender Margarita at Hearth and Hill

Ingredients:

1.5-2 oz tequila

1 oz Curaçao

1 oz lime juice 

1 oz floral-infused honey

Dried Flower Crystals® Hibiscus (Fresh Origins)

Fresh flower, garnish

Instructions:

Lightly rim half of the rocks glass with dried Flower Crystals® Hibiscus. Add a splash of Flower Crystals® Hibiscus and lime juice to the bottom of the glass to encourage the crystals to dissolve. Add all ingredients to a shaker over ice, shake well until creamy and pour all contents into the glass. Garnish with fresh flowers and a lime slice. 

Floral-Infused Honey Instructions:

Add equal parts honey, sugar and water to a large pot. Add your choice of flowers to be infused, such as hibiscus, lavender, jasmine, chamomile or butterfly pea flowers – our favorite is lavender of course! Bring to a boil and simmer for three hours. Cool and sift flowers. Refrigerate and store as you would a jar of honey.

Spicy Mango Margarita at Hotel Crescent Court 

Sipping into summer, Hotel Crescent Court, a Lone Star landmark mirroring its stylish surroundings, is mixing up a fresh concoction celebrating warmer temps and ultimate relaxation with the spicy mango margarita. A spin off of a classic margarita, this lively libation incorporates mango, habanero and casamigo blanco – delivering a spicy flavor with a sweet finish.

Ingredients:

1.5 oz Casamigo Blanco

1 oz Cointreau

.5 oz Lime Juice

1 oz Mango puree

2 Each Sliced Habanero 

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients and ice into shaker. Shake. Rim glass with Tajin. Pour in a rocks glass. Garnish with Lime and Habanero on a skewer.

Blood Orange Margarita at The Henderson Beach Resort and Spa

Escape to Florida’s Emerald Coast with this refreshing orange inspired margarita from The Henderson Beach Resort and Spa in Destin, Fla. Typically served poolside, this scrumptious cocktail infuses flavors of Blood Orange Simple Syrup and Rhum Clement Creole Shrubb to create that sweet citrus flavor Florida is famously known for.

Ingredients:

2 oz El Jimador Blanco Tequila

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1 oz Blood Orange Simple Syrup

1 oz Rhum Clement Creole Shrubb

Instructions:

Mix ingredients together, shake and strain over ice. Best served with a slice of fresh orange.

Verde Rita at Charlie Park 

The Verde Rita at Charlie Park {located in Florida’s capital city, Tallahassee} packs a flavorful punch to cool you down this summer. With fresh avocados, coconuts, limes and oranges in the ingredients, this green-juice cocktail will transport you to a tropical paradise.

Ingredients:

1.5oz Reposado (Corazon)

1.5 oz Bar guac

0.75 oz Coconut Water

0.5 oz Lime Juice

0.5 oz Lemon juice

0.5 oz Brovo Orange Curacao

2 Dash Orange Bitters

Bar Guac (Verde Rita)

3 whole avocados

1 bottle Coco Real coconut cream

6 oz lime juice

2 oz wat(Makes approximately 1 quart. Scale accordingly to satisfy par level.)

Garnish: Black sea salt/Cayenne Blend rim with a on top of cube placed in drink, Purple/White/Red Edible flower

Instructions:

Peel the skin off the avocados and discard the pits. Add to a container containing 1 bottle of Coco Real coconut cream and 8 oz of lime juice. Use an immersion blender and blend until a creamy consistency. Store in an airtight container or vacuum seal.

Spicy Flamingo Margarita in The Palm Beaches

Muddle watermelon, shake cold, double strain, pour over ice into jalapeño salt-rimmed glass, garnish with fresh jalapeño slice.

Transport yourself to paradise with this rendition of a classic rita crafted by TPC Sawgrassin Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Made of a refreshing mix of watermelon and lime, finished with basil – this lively cocktail is sure to be a favorite for National Tequila Day and beyond! 

Ingredients:

0.75 oz of Watermelon Syrup

0.75 oz of Lime Juice

0.5 oz Ilegal Mezcal

1 oz Arbol Chile Infused Dobel Reposado

2-3 Basil Leaves

Instructions:

Add basil, lime juice and watermelon syrup to the shaker and muddle. Pour into empty glass along with Mezcal. Fill the glass with ice and pour tequila on top. Garnish with basil leaf. Enjoy.

Blackberry Mint Margarita at Bungalows Key Largo

Muddle the blackberry and stir all ingredients togetherin a shaker with ice, this margarita is served up, thus strain ingredients into martini glass (no ice), and garnish with fresh mint.

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients, shake vigorously and pour into rimmed glass. Garnish with dehydrated blood orange and place in smoker. Let smoke for approx. 30 seconds and present tableside.

Rim glass with Himalayan salt by rubbing the glass with a lemon. Combine all ingredients, add ice and shake. Strain over glass, top with ice and garnish with fresh flower.
