7 Delicious Ways to Celebrate National Tequila Day!

Celebrate National Tequila Day (July 24) with these fun tequila cocktails from Barceló Hotel Group properties in Mexico and at Hilton Miami Downtown

“Cucumber-Jalapeño Infused Margarita”

Enjoy it at: Allegro Cozumel (Cozumel, Mexico)

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of cucumber
  • 3 slices of jalapeño
  • 4 oz white tequila
  • 2 oz cup Grand Marnier
  • 4 oz of simple syrup
  • 4 oz lime juice 
  • Salt 
  • Ice

Instructions:

Grab a cocktail shaker and fill it with 4 oz of white tequila (of your choice), 2 oz of Grand Marnier, 4 oz of simple syrup and 4 oz of lime juice. Throw 6 cucumber slices and 3 jalapeño slices into the mix, allowing it to infuse for at least 3 minutes. Pour the mixture into a salt-rimmed glass and serve with lots of ice.

“Guava Margarita” 

Enjoy it at: Occidental at Xcaret Destination (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. of Tequila Reposado
  • 1 oz of Triple Sec
  • 1 oz. of lemon juice.
  • 1 oz guava concentrate
  • 1 oz rosemary syrup (homemade)
  • 1 oz of pineapple juice
  • 6 oz ice cubes
  • 1 slice of star fruit (for garnish)

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour mixture into a margarita glass or serving glass of your choice. Garnish with a slice of star fruit and rosemary sprig. 

“Serrano Chili Pepper Margarita”

Enjoy it at: Occidental at Xcaret Destination (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz of tequila
  • 1 oz. of triple dry
  • 1 ½ oz serrano chili syrup (Homemade)
  • 1 oz. of lemon juice
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour mixture into serving glass of your choice and serve with ice. Spice up your mixture with a decorative serrano chili pepper.

“Red Pepper Margarita”

Enjoy it at: Occidental Nuevo Vallarta (Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico)

Ingredients:

  • Red pepper pulp
  • Orange liquor
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 1.5 oz of tequila
  • Ice

Instructions:

Pour 0.5 oz of lime juice, 1.5 oz of tequila (of choice) and red pepper pulp into a cocktail shaker. Shake well for about six seconds. Pour the cocktail into your glass of choice, serve with ice and enjoy!

“Julio Watermelon Margarita” 

Enjoy it at: Hilton Miami Downtown  (Miami, Florida)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Don Julio Silver Tequila
  • .25 oz Watermelon liquor
  • 1 cup of crushed fresh watermelon
  • .5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • Watermelon Slice

Instructions: Muddle the crushed watermelon and liquor into a cocktail shaker. Add the remaining ingredients, ice and shake. Double-strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a watermelon slice.

“Cielito Lindo”

Enjoy it at: Barceló Gran Faro Los Cabos (Los Cabos, Mexico)  

Ingredients:  

  • 2 oz Tequila Blanco
  • A dash of lemon juice
  • 1 oz Pineapple juice 
  • 1 oz Lime soda
  • 3 slices of cucumber (garnish is optional) 
  • 1 slice of an orange (cut in half) 
  • 2 lemon wedges 
  • Chili pepper and salt (for rimming glass) 

Instructions: Grab a shaker and mix all of the liquid ingredients together. Shake well! Using a hurricane cocktail glass or serving glass of your choice, rim your glass with chili pepper and salt for an extra kick of flavor. Fill the glass with ice and add in the cucumber, orange, and lemon slices. Pour liquid mixture and enjoy! 

“Tequila & Chocolate Flan Pairing”
